We welcome new members and currently have a number of plots available to rent immediately.
Please note that only Four Marks residents are eligible to join the Four Marks Allotment Association. We ask for proof of address when you join and renew your tenancy.

Our plots are great value for money
The one-off joining fee is £20. A £15 deposit is required for your key to open the gates. This is refundable when you return the key if you no longer want to rent a plot. It also covers your water key, which you’ll need to turn on the on-site taps.
The annual rent is:
- £35 for a full plot
- £17.50 for a half plot
Our rental year runs from 1 January to 31 December.
Plots taken after 1 June are charged at 50% of the annual rent in their first year.
No rent is payable in year 1 for plots taken after 1 September.
Signing up for a plot is simple
- Submit a contact us form, selecting ‘Get a plot’ as the topic for your message and telling us if you’d like a full or half plot.
- Our Membership Secretary, will be in touch to arrange a time for you to visit the available plots. If no plots are currently available, we will confirm you’re on the waiting list.
- Once you have viewed and verbally committed to renting a plot, the Membership Secretary will provide full details of the process including required fees along with payment details. Payment of these fees will secure your chosen plot.
- Once payment has been received the Membership Secretary will deliver your ‘pack’, which will contain your tenancy agreement, GDPR form, access key and water tap key along with membership/discount card.
- Sign the tenancy agreement and GDPR form and return as directed in our ‘pack’ (scanned if you have the facility to do this).
- Once the signed tenancy agreement has been received by the Membership Secretary, you will be invited to join the FMAA WhatsApp group.
Grow in community
- You can grow veg, fruit and flowers on your plot, and use tools from the communal shed.
- We organise an annual compost delivery in the autumn (pay per wheelbarrow load) and there are ad hoc deliveries of free wood chip for paths.
- You can add a shed and/or a greenhouse to your plot. See the allotment rules for more details.
- The allotment committee does regular plot inspections to ensure you’re using more than half the plot for growing from March to October, and staying on top of weeds and waste.
- Members can use the toilet at the nearby Benians Pavilion. The padlock code is available in the handbook.
- Your allotment membership card entitles you to 10% off full-price gardening supplies at Garthowen Garden Centre when you spend at least £20.
