Four Marks Allotment Association (FMAA) was founded in 2007 for Four Marks residents to rent and cultivate an allotment plot. We’re based besides the recreation ground, just off Uplands Lane and around the corner from the Sports Pavilion.
We have 80 plots where gardeners of all experience levels can enjoy growing their own vegetables, fruit and flowers.
Members have access to:
- A communal shed, fully equipped with a selection of tools to help make tending your plot even easier.
- Water taps dotted around the site, typically turned on from April to October.
- A WhatsApp community for sharing tips and produce.
- Annual compost deliveries (paid for by members).
- Ad hoc wood chip deliveries for paths (donated by local tree surgeons).
- A 10% discount at Garthowen Garden Centre (see the handbook for full details).
If you are a Four Marks resident and would like to grow in the community, we encourage you to sign up for a plot. You’ll normally be offered a plot within a few weeks and sometimes even immediately.

FMAA is run by an elected committee and has a constitution that governs its operation. These can be found in the members’ handbook.
Changes to the constitution can only be made with approval of the membership at the AGM (or, as appropriate, a Special General Meeting [SGM]).
